Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account information: your email address, chosen name, pronouns, identity, and the optional profile details you provide (avatar, age range, sexual orientation, romantic orientation, location, social media handles, and your "about me" text).
• Content: your journey entries and any photos or videos attached to them, transition timeline photos, comments, likes, and direct messages.
• Sign in with Google: if you sign in with Google, we receive your email address from Google to create and identify your account. We do not receive or store your Google password, contacts, or any other Google data.
• Contact messages: if you use the contact form, we keep the name, email address, and message you send so we can reply.
• Push notifications: if you opt in to push notifications, we store the subscription your browser gives us so we can deliver them. You can turn notifications off at any time in Settings, and we delete subscriptions that stop working.
• Cookies: we use cookies only to keep you signed in. There are no advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

What we don't do

• We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties.
• We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics.
• We do not share your data with, process it through, or use it to train any AI system. See our AI usage statement.
• Your email address is never visible to other members.

Who can see what

• You choose who can see each entry: everyone (public), logged-in members only, your followers only, or just you (private). Entries only become visible to others once a moderator approves your account.
• Your first journey entry is public — or visible to logged-in members only if you identify as questioning. Questioning members can't make any entry fully public.
• If you change how you identify, the visibility of the posts you have at that moment is locked permanently: each keeps whoever can see it and can never be widened or narrowed afterwards.
• Your profile (name, pronouns, identity, and any optional details you fill in) is visible to visitors alongside your public entries. Every optional field can be left blank.
• Your transition timeline is off unless you turn it on, and you control whether it is public or visible only to you.
• Direct messages are private between you and the other member, but may be reviewed by moderators when a message is reported. You can turn off direct messages entirely in Settings.
• A member's first few posts and comments are held for moderator review before they appear publicly, so moderators will see that content as part of approving it.

Children

Trans Journey is not available to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them (COPPA). If we learn an account belongs to a child under 13, we will delete it.

Storage & security

Your data is stored with our infrastructure providers (Supabase for account data, Amazon Web Services for posts and media). Access to the database is restricted to our backend servers.

Your rights

You can edit your profile and your entries at any time, and you can request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.
